What I Do

Fascial Stretch Therapy™ (FST)

What is Fascial Stretch Therapy™ (FST)?

Fascial Stretch Therapy™ (FST) is a full-body pain-free assisted stretch system that focuses on the fascia and joints to improve restrictions in the body. With the client on a treatment table, the therapist will use gentle traction, oscillation and circumduction as you are gently helped into specific stretches to help facilitate relaxation and improved movement in your joints and throughout your body.

FST™ can help you to perform better, prevent injury, and reduce pain.

What is fascia?

Fascia is a network of layered connective tissue that surrounds muscles, nerves, bones, organs, and joints. This connective tissue includes the joint capsules that surround joints and are involved in optimizing the mechanical function of the joint.

Poor posture, lack of exercise/poor training technique, stress to the body, trauma, injury and over training can cause the fascia to thicken, shorten and build up adhesions (scar tissue) over time.  This can inhibit your movement, cause tension, pain and instability in your body during your daily activities.

When fascia and joint capsules are restricted, it can cause:

  • Decreased joint space, leading to degenerative joint diseases and osteoarthritis

  • Increased muscle tightness, leading to trigger points, strains, tendonitis, and tears

  • Headaches

  • Increased scar tissue formation

  • Decreased blood flow and energy levels

Who can benefit from Fascial Stretch Therapy™?

Virtually anyone who has been cleared by a physician or primary care provider for stretching and active movement, including fitness enthusiasts, athletes of all levels, and desk workers. And one of the greatest benefits of FST™? The results are almost immediate. After a single session, you’ll notice a marked improvement in flexibility and mobility.

Other benefits of FST...

  • Pain reduction

  • Stress relief

  • Improved posture

  • Improved quality of sleep

  • Increased fitness performance

  • Increased range of motion

  • Injury prevention, recovery
